About The Pastor
Bishop accepted his call to the ministry in February of 1991 while serving in the United States Army during combat operations in Southwest Asia. Several Soldiers believed that the calling was a deathbed calling due to the circumstances. God saw differently and has since used Bishop Miles to serve both the Soldiers in the Army and the Soldiers in the church. Bishop Miles began his ministry in 1992 under Bishop O. Pride (his step-father) as the Youth Pastor in Dallas, Texas. He was then led to joining the Guiding Light Family Church as the Associate Pastor and Minister of Music in 1996. He was consecrated as Bishop 15 years later and to this day, does not take this calling lightly. Bishop Miles retired after serving 29 years in the United States Army. He prides himself on still serving in the Army of the Lord where he never plans to retire. He has an Associate's degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor's degree from Ashford University, and attended Slidell Baptist Seminary. He plays the Keyboard, organ and some even say he can sing.
A devoted husband since 1995, Bishop Miles is married to Carla Sherman Miles and is the loving father of two daughters, two sons (both serving in both Armies) and six grandchildren.
